There
is plenty on offer at Luwawa. We provide a safe and fun range
of D.I.Y or guided activities to suite all ages and
abilities. We do exciting corporate
leadership and teambuilding initiatives which are ideal for
business, friends or school groups, as well as a range of
activities and adventures.
We pride ourselves on
our walking and mountain bike trails, with many
beautiful routes in the vicinity of the lodge. There
are also plenty of opportunities to see a large variety of
bird life. We can organise bird watching
trails for those who are interested.
There
are plenty of panoramic views of the African Rift Valley
to the East, and the Zambian plains to the West.
Wilderness
trails to Lake Malawi
On
foot, bike or
4x4 either way you will have the opportunity to experience the
tranquillity of the
woodland areas and the expansive views across the great lake.
Trails can vary in duration and can be changed to suit a
group. Gorge walking and Orienteering, by
both foot and bike, can
also be arranged close to the lodge.
Mountain
biking
Mountain
biking around the lodge is excellent with hundreds of
kilometres
of forest trails to enjoy in a safe, cool environment with
scenic splendour. Its a great place to get fit in the fresh
mountain air!
Rock climbing,
abseiling or repelling
Are
one of our specialties! Gives you a unique opportunity to
rock climb in the North of Malawi. We have trained instructors,
guides,
professional equipment and ten years of experience with a
100% safety record! Its a great day out for all.
Water
sports include fishing, sailing, kayaking
and canoeing on the Luwawa reservoir.
The
lodge is working in partnership with local villages
and part of your experience could include a cultural awareness
visit to an African village
or working open cast gem stone mine.
Other
activities include archery, football, squash, table
tennis, volleyball, kids bikes, and a
playground all in a safe and beautiful location.
There
are plenty of other childrens' activities, as well as
traditional dancing from northern Malawi
